Lines by Geoxsmith.

2016-2019

The idea of “Lines” was interesting. I actually started the line drawings in high school around the age of 16; I was really interested in the curves and dimensions of a face. From that, I started drawing the curves of faces in lines that replicated where the different dimensions fell, kinda of like those weather maps you see on the news. So I just merged the 2 together. From feedback on instagram I decided to put the prints onto tees, which grew into my own online business.

I’ve started doing quite a few charitable projects lately; finding ways to help others through my own success. A friend of mine that was diagnosed with melanoma cancer and was on some expensive unfunded drugs. I was so eager to donate but couldn’t afford to do it myself as I was a student. So, I thought the best thing I could do was by using my start up company to try finding a way to raise money. This then turned into making a tee, tote, and print of his favourite rapper – Kanye. All profits went towards his cause.

On the sustainability side of things, I like to be able to trace all my finished textiles, whether thats my garments I made at university to the packaging I like to know where they were made. Within my t-shirt company, I made sure everything was hand drawn, printed in Auckland, and the t-shirts themselves were child labour-free. All tshirts were made to order to ensure there was no wastage.
